The allograft product used by Dr. Samuels is a human tissue allograft that is categorized under minimally manipulated tissue protocol approved by the FDA. It is derived from placental tissue, amniotic membrane and amniotic fluid of consenting mothers at the time of a live, full-term, elective Cesarean birth of thoroughly screened donors. There is absolutely no harm to the donor mother or new born baby.
Amniotic tissue is abundant with bioactive mechanisms also known to be active in tissue repair and wound healing. Amniotic fluid and membrane contain collagen substrates, growth factors, amino acids, carbohydrates, and cytokines, which are known to aid in the migration and proliferation of cells to the site of injury, helping to construct a natural scaffold on which new tissue growth can take place. This can aid in other approaches of hair restoration such as wound healing after transplant surgery; in combination with PRP for better results; and other applications.
Properties of amniotic cells include:
Growth Factor proteins
Cytokines
Collagen (all substrates, Fibronectin, Laminin)
Hyaluronic Acid
miRNA
Associated Exosomes
Secretomes
Cellular Components include:
Pluripotent MSC’S
Fibroblasts
Keratinocytes
Epithelial cells
